Wood Werks Supply is proud to introduce River Bend Windsor Chair Kits. The famous Windsor is finally within reach of woodworkers of all skill levels. Each kit includes pre-turned spindles and legs, completed carvings (if applicable) and a "roughed" seat that will only require final shaping and sanding. Each kit is created with period correct materials. The seats are shaped from Poplar, turnings are Hard Maple and all steam bent parts are made of Oak. This is your chance to build a stunning, functional and beautiful heirloom in a single weekend. Can I built this? While this is a challenging build, woodworkers of nearly every skill level will enjoy building a River Bend Windsor Chair. Included with each kit is an easy to read instruction guide that takes you from kit to finish in as little as 8-10 hours. Many of the difficult steps have been done for you. Holes are drilled at proper angles. All of the steam bending has been completed. Legs and spindles are turned and sanded and the seat has been shaped. Once you've assembled your Windsor Chair, the only step left is to apply your choice of finish. Painting may be the time-honored method of finishing a period correct Windsor chair, however the natural beauty of the woods used to make the chair also lend themselves well to stains and clear finishes. I can do that! What will I need? To complete a kit you'll only need a few chisels, a hammer, a drill and an orbital sander. Those of you wishing to use a more traditional assembly approach would need travishers or inshaves. Of course you'll also need either the paint or finish you plan to use.
